Misha Stoutenbeek started this work in 2011, when preparing for a travel to Brazil to live and work there for a period of six months. His assignment as an independent contractor was to help a Minas Gerais based coffee company optimise their brand for the European market. For this they let him study the world of coffee mentored by agronomists and cupping experts that also introduced him to sugar-cane producers and cocoa exporters.
An operational deep-dive that opened a world he became passionate about.
In the second stage of the job, he was send back to Europe to find and close export contracts. In this period his romantic feelings about the premium-commodity world, were remodelled with market realism. After years of commercialising these products in the frontline, he learned about market needs the hard way. When products or business conditions did not meet demands, he was the one that got slapped in the face first. Traveling up and down for years between supply and demand, he learned that providing form origin comes with many challenges and complexities. However, he saw many opportunities to do things better.
He decided to live in other Latin American countries to find more farmer owned businesses with great potential. He searched in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela and established a list of 70 companies and farmer-associations to pitch his ideas to. It was Colombia and Venezuela were he found some true great alliances.
Christin Marit managed for 10 years her own online-development business in Germany, offering custom concepts and creative ideas to national and international customers. She has been working with the internet since the end of the nineties, also in the role of advisor.
During the years she became an expert in the field of e-commerce, online-marketing and branding. She has been specialising in which e-commerce tools and platforms can help businesses with specific objectives. This is an area highly subject to innovation trends and needs constant study.
Her ‘puzzle-mind’, strong analytical and coding background are a great asset for the sales-estimations and analysis we perform on a weekly basis. She has the ability to feel the needs of her clients in a very early stage and has plenty of creative ideas for solutions to these needs. Christin’s diversity, enthusiasm and energy makes every case a pleasure to dive into.
Stoutenbeek & Marit
Christin and Misha were already collaborating for a longer time in several ways and they have a very complementary skillset. So joining forces under one company was a logical and great next step.
